We do not provide binary distribution of slim, except for windows and in all cases, it is recommended to compile it from sources. To compile SLIM, a unix-like environment is required.

- On linux, follow [those instructions](SLIM-Installation-on-linux)
- On Windows and OS-X the use of a virtual machine is recommended, follow [those instructions](SLIM-Installation-in-VirtualBox).
- On Windows 10, install the ubuntu linux subsystem the follow the instructions for linux.

Compiling SLIM natively on windows (using mingw) and on OS-X (using macport or brew) is doable but we do not provide any support for those setups.
